  • ROTOFLUX® rotary unions are used in a wide range of applications and can operate with many different fluids: water, hot oil, steam, compressed air, vacuum, hydraulic oil, hot oil, cutting fluid, coolant or dry running (depending on the model), at high or low speeds and pressures.

These rotary unions are available in single flow universal series, single flow T series or high speed series with radial connection (for machine tool coolant).

Other seals are also available on request:

    • stainless steel version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : from 1/4'' to 2'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 150°C - 3500 RPM
    • built-in version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : from 1/4'' to 1/2'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 120°C - 3500 rpm
    • double flow version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : from 2 x 1/4'' to 1/2'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 120°C - 1500 rpm
    • two-way high pressure and low speed version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : from 3/8'' to 3/4'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 120°C - 250 rpm
    • four or six way high pressure and low speed version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : 3/8'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 120°C - 250 rpm
    • high pressure and low speed version (compressed air and vacuum, under conditions : water, hydraulic oil) : from 1/4'' to 3/4'' - 10 bar (6,7 KPa) - 120°C - 250 rpm
    • high flow version (water) : from 2''1/2 to 3'' - 10 bar - 120°C - 750 rpm
    • high pressure and high speed version (water, under conditions : hydraulic oil) : from 1/4'' to 3/4'' - 400 bar - 90°C - 1500 rpm

  • ➔ Installation instructions

Even if the ROTOFLUX® unions are solid and stout, they must be handled with care. For a proper installation we suggest to proceed as follows :
    • Make sure that the fluid circuit, when new, has been properly cleaned and made free from any machining burr or abrasive particle. In existing fluid circuit make sure that the filter quality and functionality are in accordance with the normal requirements of hydraulic circuit.
    • Clamp in a bench vice the rear of the union and screw up the flexible hose. (sketch 1) Do not use solid pipes.

    • Install the rotary union on to the shaft. ( sketch 2)
    • Connect the flexible hose to the supply line. Make sure that the union is not installed taut. (sketch 3)
    • When using metallic flexible hoses in short space with sharp curves, use rigid 45 or 90 elbows to avoid undue stresses. (sketch 4)

    • Check that the union does not rotate eccentric or wobbling.
    • If the fluid is hot or dangerous for any reason, apply a union guard.
    • When required, lubricate periodically the union.
    • Inspect periodically the union to ensure the necessary maintenance and detect any leakage.
